  1. Take 1 Cup Arhar Dal/Toor Dal
  2. Take 1 cup Split Bengal Gram/ChanaDal
  3. Provide 6 - 8 Green Chillies (depends on spiciness of the Chilli) -
  4. Prepare 1 Tsp Peppercorns
  5. You need 1 inch Ginger
  6. Get 1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
  7. Use A handful Freshly grated Coconut -
  8. Get 2Tbsp Finely chopped Coriander & Curry Leaves -
  9. You need As per taste Salt -
  10. Prepare 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  11. You need 1 Tsp Eno/Baking Soda
  12. Get 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida -
  13. Use 1 Cup Rice Flour
  14. You need 2 Cups Water
  15. Take For Sweet Kadubu
  16. Provide 1 Cup Freshly grated Coconut
  17. Provide 0.5 Cup Jaggery/Jaggery Powder -/as per the required sweetness
  18. Take 1 Tbsp Rice flour
  19. Provide 1 Tsp Cardamom Powder
Instructions to make Khara Kadubu, Sihi Kadubu (Savoury & Sweet Pudding/Dumplings):
  1. Wash and soak both the Lentils in water for 5-6 hours or overnight.
  2. Add Green Chillies, Peppercorns, Ginger, Cumin Seeds in a blender along with the soaked Lentils in batches and blend it coarsely. DO NOT ADD WATER.
  3. To the ground mixture, add finely chopped Coriander & Curry Leaves, Grated Coconut, Lemon Juice, Salt and mix well. Add Eno/Soda in the end & mix it. Stuffing for Savoury Kadubu is ready.
  4. Boil 2 cups of water, add a spoon of Oil & Salt into it. Add the Rice Flour into it, give it a mix, close the lid & turn off the flame. Let it cook in the hot steam for 5-10 minutes. Then knead it to a soft dough and make round balls out of it as shown.
